Lockdown

As we head into National Lockdown again, here’s an update on how EMOHA’s services are adapting to these challenging times.

Access to oral history archive material

Access to archive material remains limited during this time. With the EMOHA office at the University of Leicester closed, we are unable to offer appointments for you to come in and listen to oral histories from the archive. Where possible, we may be able to provide summaries or transcripts of recordings.

Oral history training

We continue to offer a pared-back online oral history training provision. Capacity is limited, so please book well in advance. Get in touch to find out more.

Audio recording equipment loans

We are currently unable to loan out recording equipment.

The Silent Archive

EMOHA has been able to continue with its National Lottery Heritage Funded project The Silent Archive: Oral Testimonies of Menopause , albeit in a covid-adapted form. The project is due finish at the end of February 2021. Watch this space for project outcomes, which include digitised extracts of interviews, conversations and diaries and an anthology of creative writing inspired by menopause.

Keeping in touch

We are still keen to hear about and support oral history work going on across the East Midlands and to promote this through our social media feeds. Do keep in touch!
